With Dawn's Light (a poem)

Most of us have probably felt like we were on the outside looking in, at one time or another. It can be very isolating to feel as if you are completely alone while being surrounded by others.
With Dawn's Light
the distance between
more than just space
the regret of past years
seen upon my face
life lived on the fray
an observer looking in
a desperate want
to fill the void
the lonliness within
aching want of youth
replaced by complacency
mutuality gone
once a single beating heart
withered and faded
a sense of invisibility
words that were spoken
best left unsaid
a broken vow
or fractured promise
thoughts run through my head
darkness is the enemy
quiet of the night
wishing time would pass
and bring the renewing light
unsurmountable mountains
crumble with the dawn
bringing with it always
the will to carry on

Hi Sarah, another beautiful poem with the truth of how we have all felt at times. Remember when you feel like your alone in the dark, to say a little pray for God to send in the light. He will always be there to carry you through.
